Chicago Area / Remote

Job summary of the Vehicle Cybersecurity Software Engineer:

Our client, a globally recognized name in vehicle systems, is looking for a Vehicle Cybersecurity Engineer who will be who will be responsible for evaluating and implementing the latest cybersecurity technologies, defining and deploying risk assessment methodology and cybersecurity development process applicable to cyber-physical vehicle system. This position is focused on the embedded software/firmware portion of ECUs, developing products for such areas as ADAS and autonomous driving.
 
This is an exciting position because it gives you the opportunity to be both technical and creative in developing the technology that will decide our future in vehicle and transportation markets.
 
This position is eligible for remote work, with occasional visits to the main development center.
 
 
Responsibilities of the Vehicle Cybersecurity Software Engineer:

  • Develop and enhance vehicle cybersecurity capabilities
  • Develop and enhance vehicle cybersecurity goals and requirements
  • Develop and improve Navistar's product cybersecurity incidence response
  • Embedded software development to support ECU cybersecurity

 
Qualifications of the Vehicle Cybersecurity Software Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At least 2 years of experience in product design/development
  • Knowledge and practical experience with product and software security development
  • Knowledge and experience in Cybersecurity threat analysis and risk assessment process and techniques
  • Knowledge and practical experience with common cybersecurity controls in automotive ECUs
  • Strong problem-solving skills to analyze cybersecurity issues and requirements to develop appropriate cybersecurity controls
  • Secure embedded software development life cycle and techniques
  • Hands on embedded software development experience in C/C++
  • Knowledge with ISO/SAE 21434 or SAE J3061
  • Experience with engineering and quality design and development methodologies: (8D, FMEA, DVP&R)

 
Compensation of the Vehicle Cybersecurity Engineer:
Salary Range:  $80,000-94,000/year depending on experience 

 
Location: Chicago Area / Remote
