In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist. Typical work assignments include: * Developing and maintaining strategic plans. Develop methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts. * Consulting with customers to gather and evaluate functional requirements and translates these requirements into technical solutions. * Providing recommendations on data structures and databases that ensure correct and quality production of reports/management information. * Leading the section, overseeing all section projects and activities, and ensuring alignment with the Insights Branch's vision and objectives. * Directing the management, development, and integration of mitigation insights necessary for supporting the mission, vision strategies, objectives, and goals of the CISA Cyber Security Division (CSD). * Supervising direct reports, including performance monitoring and feedback, professional development, mentoring, and strategic guidance. * Quarterly and annual performance reviews, approving training requests, approving timesheets, and conducting other administrative tasks for workforce management. * Leading the Cyber Defense Coordination Branch in the research, development, and implementation of appropriate mitigation process or solutions that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals. * Playing a mentorship role to key personnel assigned to the Section, ensuring constant improvement in their professional skills, guiding in the execution of their duties upon request, and essentially readying them for taking up her/his position in the future. Communicates influentially, as appropriate. * Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations In addition to the above requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level performing the following duties: * Serving as an expert on a team comprised of threat analysts, technical analysts, computer network defense analysts, incident response analysts, and incident managers. * Managing cybersecurity defense activities, including the maintenance of indicators in intrusion detection and prevention systems * Manage cybersecurity defense activities including the evaluation of anomalous activity in network traffic, and the reporting of detected incidents and suspicious activity to relevant stakeholders. * Leading incident response activities, including forensic collection of images and artifacts, analysis of resulting data, and development of remediation and mitigation recommendations.
