As a System Security Architect, you evaluate new technologies to determine relevance for the customer's mission. Additionally, the role involves engaging in technical discussions both within the program and with external entities. In support of large scale networks, the architect coordinates efforts from a tactical and strategic perspective for cyber-related actions, including recommending priorities and the direction of resources. These duties are part of the architect's daily responsibilities of prepare and present white papers as needed to the senior program leaders, present approaches to stakeholders, including engineers and analysts, to gain the necessary engagement to support the successful implementation of new technologies and enhancements to existing technologies.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical evaluation and strategic recommendations to the leadership
  • Perform market research on new vendor offerings and present findings to customer leadership
  • Coordinate Quarterly vendor week presentations and demonstrations for the office.
  • Work closely with cyber architects and engineers to shape technical solutions to ensure the maximum protection by cybersecurity defenses and monitoring capabilities
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for security tool integration to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Work closely with security analysts and engineers to identify key requirements and enhancements to support office mission
  • Conduct briefs on new vendor offerings and coordinate with vendors to perform health checks on existing tools
  • Maintain overarching understanding of current technical capabilities and new initiatives
  • Experience using Endpoint Security tools such as: Tanium, FireEye, Splunk, Cisco, Symantec, Source Fire, ex.
  • Cultivate technical solutions that meet business objectives with awareness of current or developing technical capabilities of the Department
  • Support mission/business, functional, and technical requirements gathering for major cybersecurity initiatives
  • Synthesize information on solution design, establish architectural principles, and apply industry and government standards to system architectures
  • Certifications related to CISSP, CCNA and any Cloud is a bonus but not required.

Maintain a long-term outlook (2 – 5 years) for the customer needed capabilities and trends.

5 years of system’s engineering and/or cyber security experience and a bachelor's of science degree

Nice to have but not a must:

  • Experience in Cyber Security technology like PKI, Multi-factor authentication, Intrusion Detection and/or Prevention Systems, Endpoint Security Applications and Network Security Applications​
