Description

The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Nuclear Weapon System and Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert working onsite at a location in the Arlington or Falls Church, VA. The potential candidate will provide expertise to help assess weapon system and cybersecurity risk, including risk to the supply chain, as it pertains to the safety, security and control of nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon systems for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters. This requires someone who has a strong and substantial background and proven history in supporting senior-level DoD officials and advising on strategy, policy, implementation, and execution of U.S. Government-level programs in a cross-functional, Interagency setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Develop and include nuclear weapon system risk management and cybersecurity principles for nuclear weapon and nuclear weapon system policies, standards, and procedures for safety, security, and control
* Provide weapon system and cybersecurity-related information for inclusion in annual reports on nuclear surety and certification to the President and Congress
* Assist Military Service nuclear weapon system certification processes to address weapon system risk and cybersecurity requirements
* Participate in the development of nuclear weapons technical inspection policy to include risk management and cybersecurity principles
* Provide support for nuclear weapon safety activities including the review, preparation, and coordination of Weapon System Safety Rules and special safety studies
* Attend and record minutes for scheduled meetings
* Process documents, data, and reports as needed to support client requirements

Basic Qualifications:

* Cybersecurity control implementation, vulnerability assessments or other analyses
* Bachelor's Degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience
* Technical expertise with DoD nuclear weapon systems
* Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
* Organization and time management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Excellent research skills
* Applicant must hold an active Top-Secret security clearance and be eligible to access Sensitive Compartmentalized Information to apply for this position
* Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in relevant field and at least 10 years of relevant experience with nuclear weapon systems
* Demonstrated senior- or executive-level experience within relevant organizations such as nuclear weapon system System Program Offices and Military Service staff positions (i.e., Air Staff / Chief of Naval Operations)
