Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Air Forces next generation InterContinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system. Our customer is the Sentinel Program Office located at Hill AFB, north of Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be a long term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075. We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. They must possess high energy and a strong motivation to make a difference. They must be comfortable working with changing priorities. The ability to switch tasks with minimal disruption is a must. The Cybersecurity Engineer will create and review acquisition documents with a specific focus on weapon system platform IT. They will identify and prepare documents, perform assessments, and interface with other organizations supporting DoD program acquisition design milestones and RMF accreditation. They will analyze Commercial off the Shelf (COTS)/Government off the Shelf (GOTS), Modified COTS/GOTS and other security and tracking programs for secure Sentinel applications and consistency with DoDI 5200.44, Trusted Systems and Networks. They must also understand assessment of embedded systems or other weapons systems to support Platform IT assessments. Experience with the DoD’s Cybersecurity processes (DIACAP and Risk Management Framework (RMF) to include NIST security controls) are a plus. The Cybersecurity Engineer will work on the Weapon System Cybersecurity team, within the Mission Defense branch under Program Systems Engineering, and with other integrated product teams across the Sentinel Program Office to assess systems' security engineering requirements, impacts of vulnerabilities, develop and implement mitigation plans, and document all findings. Our team provides future weapon system and lab architectures, concepts of operation, modeling, simulation, and plans for addressing all of Sentinel's design, as well as, focusing on integrating weapon system platform IT with Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) options. Our team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system, and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for this next generation system.Required Education, Experience, & Skills BS/BA.Minimum Experience 15 years with BS, 13 years with MS/MA.At least 10 years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Thorough understanding of cybersecurity and security engineering principles to include threats to terrestrial, enterprise systems, embedded systems, and mitigating approaches/technologies.Knowledgeable of best practices when implementing security controls including software engineering methodologies, hardware engineering, security engineering principles, and secure coding techniques and coordinates activities with assessment and authorization stakeholders.Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and cybersecurity controls consistent with CNSSI No. 1253, NIST 800-53, and DoDI 8510.01.Familiarity with or willingness to rapidly learn DoD/DOE nuclear weapon lifecycle activities in accordance with DoD Directive 3150.1 and DODI 5030.55 as well as any other relevant U.S. law, DoD, CJCS, United States Air Force (USAF), or other Service Component, directive, policy, instruction, or guide.Must possess current Secret level security clearance.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Software Engineering, or Data Processing.Possess cybersecurity background and training consistent with DoDI 8570.01 Level III (e.g., CISSP or CISSP Associate)Experience with integrating security functional requirements into existing acquisition lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologiesExperience in ICBM C2 or similar strategic systemsPrior experience working with Department of Energy and National Security Agency requirementsPrior experience working with classified systemsAbout BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, an international defense, aerospace and security company which delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.
