Leidos is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Engineer in Alexandria, VA.
Weapons systems continue to grow in capability and complexity. In order to enable more complete and rapid testing of modern weapon systems, the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) has invested in the JMETC program to enhance the capability to execute and manage complex distributed testing as demonstrated on the Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) network in an operationally relevant environment and increase capabilities of the test ranges across the DoD. One key part of the investment is the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) to promote net-centric interoperability testing, and rapid deployment of test capabilities.
This position is to join a team of 20 developers working on the full life cycle from design to user support of applications and collaboration tools that are part of TENA to enhance the capabilities of DoD test and training ranges. This position is responsible for monitoring, detection, mitigation, and response to cyber incidents in accordance with High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) guidance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:-Monitor computing infrastructure of 50+ servers under the supervision of our ISSO and Chief Engineer
-Monitoring and configuring Splunk, ACAS, MCafee and other HPCMP tools to track operational Cybersecurity, infrastructure status.
-Investigating computer and information security incidents, conducting computer forensic network and host analysis, intrusion and threat hunting support, performing penetration tests to evaluate system security
-Coordination between the cyber security stakeholders such as the ISSO, ISSM, PM and Chief Engineer to prioritize cyber security tasking
-Configuration, testing, deployment and maintenance of infrastructure hardware and software.
-Bachelor's Degree IT, Cyber or a related discipline with an average 3.0 GPA.
-Experience with hardware and software setup of computing systems.
-Ability to communicate verbally and in writing on technical computer topics to enable clear communications and collaboration across team members that request changes or may be impacted by them.
-Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
-U.S. Citizenship is required.
-Four year degree in a computer/information systems area.
