In this position, you will serve as aan IT Cybersecurity Manager. Typical work assignments include Serve as Section Chief over one of four specialty areas (Cloud Forensics, Host Forensics, Network Forensics, Adversary Pursuit). Acquires and manages the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk. Supervises a group of employees performing work up to the GS-15 level. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Leads new security technologies implementation activities. Institutes measures to ensure security technologies awareness and compliance. Identifies need for changes based on new security technologies andor threats. Leads the overall budget, acquisitions, finance, and administrative management functions relative to the staff supervised. Coordinates and provides expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents. Perform real-time cyber defense incident handling (e.g., forensic collections, intrusion correlation and tracking, threat analysis, and direct system remediation) tasks to support deployable Incident Response Teams. Problem Solving Identifies problems determines accuracy and relevance of information uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations In addition to the above requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level performing the following duties Providing direction and guidance for a multi-functional, cyber operations team responsible for defending critical, U.S. information systems and technical assets. Serving as an expert on a team comprised of threat analysts, technical analysts, computer network defense analysts, incident response analysts, and incident managers. Managing cybersecurity defense activities, including the maintenance of indicators in intrusion detection and prevention systems Manage cybersecurity defense activities including the evaluation of anomalous activity in network traffic, and the reporting of detected incidents and suspicious activity to relevant stakeholders. Leading incident response activities, including forensic collection of images and artifacts, analysis of resulting data, and development of remediation and mitigation recommendations. Providing senior leadership with situational awareness on priority cyber defense actions, and ensure that leaders are able to make informed decisions during critical events. Coordinating efforts with internal and external working-level partners, including internal peers with responsibilities inside their AOR, interagency partners, international partners, and partners in private industry. Providing briefings and serve as a SME both internal to the agency and to external stakeholders, as needed.
