Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) invites nominations and applications for the next Dean of the College of Security and Intelligence (CSI).  Located in ERAU’s Prescott, AZ campus, the College represents the first comprehensive degree-granting college of its kind in the United States.

Founded in 2014, CSI offers Bachelor of Science Degrees in Cyber Intelligence and Security, and Global Security and Intelligence Studies, as well as Master of Science Degrees in Cyber Intelligence and Security, and Security and Intelligence.  Language skills are a valued aspect of the degree programs by integrating language studies in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, and Russian.

Based on a philosophy of total student development comprising intellect, innovation, grit, dedication, and the desire to make a substantive difference in the world, CSI serves the needs and desires of students pursuing careers in the fields of security and intelligence while supporting the university’s efforts to lead the nation preparing students to succeed in technical industries.

The Dean of CSI orchestrates and executes the strategic vision of the College. The Dean will lead a college of 23 unique and diverse faculty members to set a standard of excellence in carefully chosen academic niches within the disciplines of security and intelligence.

As the only institution that focuses on combining these two disciplines, the Dean will lead the college’s efforts to enable and empower students to understand how to manage and protect assets, as well as provide decision support and advantage in global, national, cyber, and corporate (private sector) security domains.

The CSI Dean will lead and facilitate the integration of curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. In support of both students and faculty, the CSI Dean must lead the development and implementation of innovative academic programs, improvements in the quality of recruited students, and comply with accreditation criteria and comprehensive academic assessment.

The CSI Dean will facilitate the creation and sustainment of partnerships with likely or potential student employers and will work to bring externally funded research opportunities. In addition, the Dean will support faculty research and scholarship that contributes to the college’s vision.  The CSI Dean will work with alumni and development organizations toward greater financial support for both the college and the university.

The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline, possess strong leadership and inter-personal skills, and have professional experience managing academic or public/private sector programs related to the broader disciplines of security and intelligence. Experience with organizational budgets and prior academic administrative experience are highly desired.
