The N454 Enterprise Cybersecurity & IT Infrastructure Solutions Department helps our federal government sponsors to respond to shifting priorities, reliably deliver data and technology, and enable insights to secure the mission. N454 is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer who wants to leverage their expertise in Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) in a technical advisory role with significant customer interaction at the government executive level, across the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). This position provides an opportunity to collaborate with other MITRE subject matter experts in a culture focused on ongoing learning and development. The successful candidate will perform ZTA systems engineering as part of larger systems engineering efforts and support the development of system designs that meet both mission functional requirements and security policy requirements. Job responsibilities include: * Engage with technical experts within MITRE and from DoD, the IC, cybersecurity vendors, and the user community to identify and solve ZTA challenges.
* Provide technical expertise on the application and enabling of ZTA.
* Assessment of technology solutions and develop implementation and integration strategies to improve security operations and network defense.
* Coordinate with DoD and IC to identify cybersecurity requirements, gaps, and design alternatives.
* Identify how ZTA can enable secure information access and sharing and provide guidance on how to make best use of currently available tools.
* Assess ZTA designs/implementation on their ability to support functional and security requirements.
* Apply policy and governance for mission requirements, evaluate technical standards and advancements for improving enterprise-wide cyber security
* Support the architecture, analysis, and prototyping of cyber security technologies.
* Partner with government leadership and working groups to develop enterprise plans and roadmaps to support a "future view" of technologies for the IC.
* Provide technical leadership and mentor early career professionals. Required Qualifications: * Sound cybersecurity knowledge and an understanding of IC and/or DoD cybersecurity practices.
* Knowledge of systems engineering concepts to include practical experience in systems development lifecycles.
* Ability to apply security principles and mechanisms to enterprise systems designs.
* Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture principles and design alternatives.
* Knowledge of security architectures that apply to ZTA.
* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Math, Information Security, System Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field and 8 years of related experience.
* Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain/maintain Polygraph. Desired Qualifications: * Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Polygraph preferred.
* Ability to effectively work with and provide strategic and solid technical guidance to senior government officials.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
* Experience with cybersecurity technologies and tools, trends and emerging capabilities, and architectures.
* Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture pillars.
