Description

Senior Cyber Security Engineer

1. DIACAP and/or RMF experience
2. ACAS Scanning and STIG application

Required: Active Secret clearance, Security+
Microsoft Operating System certifications.

Immediate opening for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support its Cyber Defense activities.

Responsibilities:
Conduct risk management assessments and authorizations to achieve an acceptable level of risk for organizations and projects. Accomplish an Authority to Operate (ATO) for multiple systems.

Produce DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

Implement the RMF in accordance with DoD and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines.

Develop strategies, tools, processes, and technologies to improve the cybersecurity posture of complex information systems while reducing costs and resources.
Design and implement security certification assessment and authorization (A&A), incident detection and response, audit/inspection, infrastructure support, system administration, log auditing, and other Information Assurance (IA) activities.
Provide information security expertise to system development teams throughout the lifecycle process.

Perform vulnerability analysis, management and response using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).

Perform oversight and day-to-day security operations for continuous monitoring of systems.

Propose, coordinate, implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and STIG checklists.
Create Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for the implementation of security protocols and procedures.

Design, implement, and support Enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) tools, as well as custom PowerShell and other scripting languages.

Administer Windows-based and Linux-based servers and workstations according to best practices and DoD guidelines and policies.

Design, implement, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot information system networks including security appliances, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, routers, managed and unmanaged switches, virtual private networks, and distributed virtual networks.
Design, implement, configure, monitor and troubleshoot VMware-based virtual environments to include hosts, clusters, virtual networks and storage.

Requirements:
- Must hold a Secret clearance
- 3+ years of Information Assurance experience in a DoD-related environment with previous experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
- Experience with the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) DIACAP process for DoD information systems.
- Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) experience.
- Experience creating POAMs and implementing technical mitigations.
- Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation systems.
- Knowledge of DoD instructions 8500.01 and 8510.01.

Education Requirements:
- Must hold a Security+ certification.

Education Requirements:
*Must obtain or possess certifications at the CSWF Master Level in one of the following codes: 722, 461, 612 (https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/cswf/index.htm).
*Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

Bonus Qualifications
*Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
*Previous experience as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
*Successfully managing an RMF package through the validation process and achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO).
*Experience administering Linux systems.
*Experience administering networks using Cisco Firepower Management Center.
*Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware platforms.
*Software Engineering experience and the ability to program in advanced programming and scripting languages.
*Prior active duty military welcomed and encouraged to apply.

Bonus Education Requirements
*Advanced degree in Information Technology focusing on Cyber Security skills.
*Advanced training and certifications in specific cyber security activities, operating systems, networks, and virtualization technologies.

This individual will need to have very good written communication as they will be responsible for writing up POA&Ms and various packages. They will also need good verbal and personal skills as they will be interacting with government customers and other contracting agencies.
