Description
Under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the Cybersecurity Architect implements key activities in support of the Cybersecurity program at Palomar Health. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: conduct security audits, maintains risk register, ediscovery activities, incident response measures and remediation activities. Act as the subject matter expert in the architecture and design of systems related to cybersecurity. Assist with the development and implementation of cybersecurity training programs. Work closely with the infrastructure, device and applications team to ensure information security compliance. Effectively translate security related regulatory requirements into technical requirements and solutions. Work with technical resources to plan, implement, monitor, and maintain information and cybersecurity systems. Implement information and cybersecurity policies while maintaining excellent employee relations/customer service and attention to employee needs. Effectively communicate complex security topics to a non-technical audience. Implement the necessary systems to comply with HIPAA Security Rule, PCI-DSS and other regulatory requirements pertaining to information security at Palomar Health. Stay current with trends, threats and technologies related to information security.
Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experiencePreferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science or related field.Minimum Experience: 3 years of Cybersecurity experience
Experience within a regulated (i.e. healthcare, government) environmentPreferred Experience: 5 years of Information and cybersecurity experience in a healthcare setting
Experience designing and implementing current IT and cybersecurity technologies
Experience implementing information security frameworks and standards (ISO, NIST, COBIT)
Knowledgeable in enterprise level security technologies (i.e. IDP, IDS, SIEM, firewalls, encryption solutions, antivirus/antispyware, WAF)Required Certification: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Preferred Certification: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)Required License: Valid Driver's LicensePreferred License: Not Applicable
