THOR Solutions is actively seeking a junior-level Cybersecurity Analyst to support Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Navigation & Electrical (C4N&E) activities at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City, FL. An ideal candidate will possess experience or familiarity with supporting cybersecurity/IA efforts in a U.S. Navy/DoD environment,.  

The candidate???s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:

  • Conduct cybersecurity scans of hardware and software systems and configurations in support of larger cybersecurity/IA processes and policies.
  • Support and participate in Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) activities.
  • Coordinate with Navy and contractor cybersecurity personnel in identifying cybersecurity discrepancies and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
  • Support the RMF process through thorough research, testing, and documentation of mission-essential devices.
  • Work to apply U.S. Navy information systems security laws, policies, and directives.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must already possess an active or interim SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 


  • One of the following:
    • Associate???s or Bachelor???s degree in cybersecurity, infosecurity, or a related field.
    • Technical/military school diploma in cybersecurity, infosecurity, or a related field, PLUS at least one (1) year of recent, relevant professional experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Have completed or are able to complete MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certifications or Role Based certifications:
    • Configure, Secure, and Manage Data
    • Administration
    • Configure and Support Core Services
    • Troubleshooting for IT Support
  • Proficiency with common productivity software including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position is part of the Navy???s Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF). Details and additional requirements can be seen on the Navy Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (COOL) website:


  • At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience providing IA/cybersecurity support functions in a US Navy/DoD environment, including:
    • Preparing, updating, and maintaining RMF documentation, including Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages, System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for networks and systems.
    • Using the following tools:  Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)/Nessus, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)/Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
    • Working in an Information Systems Security or Information Assurance role.
  • Experience with Windows 7 or Windows 10 administration.
  • Experience with Linux (VxWorks/RHEL/Generic Linux) administration.

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 0-10% travel is anticipated for this position.
