Overview

This job provides on-site support to Joint Staff J6 in the Pentagon. The mission of the J6 is to develop Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) and Cyber capability requirements and facilitate on behalf of the Joint Force in order to deliver a sustained information advantage, enable decision and action at the speed of the problem, and to ensure the warfighter receives jointly integrated and effective capabilities necessary to conduct operations. On behalf of the J6 Director, the Deputy Directorate for Cyber and Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integration (DD C5I) leads efforts for Cyber and C4 capability development, integration and assessments, in order to achieve an interdependent joint force. The DD C5I provides a joint focal point to orchestrate, integrate, and manage designated capabilities across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). #IN123

Responsibilities

The Cyber Security Threat Analyst ensures clients utilize a comprehensive framework that enables them to make accurate risk-based decisions on where to focus resources for tactical and strategic cyber security operations. The threat analyst provides recommendations for prioritization of audit findings based on highest potential impact and risk to the organization. The analyst develops and evaluates security system plans and risk assessments, performs periodic reviews of government cyber security policies and provide recommendations for enhancements based on federal compliance mandates and current and emerging cyber security threats and trends. Additionally, the threat analyst reviews security controls, configurations, and architectures and provide recommendations of where to focus efforts to mitigate the most risk to the organization. Finally, the cyber security threat analyst performs certification and accreditation activities or interfaces with certification and accreditation team to ensure all systems are certified and accredited and have the proper security controls required for their sensitivity and classification level.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of Cyber related experience.
  • Certifications - DoDI 8570.01-M IAM Level III or higher. Requires CISSP / CISM.
  • Clearance - Top Secret/SCI (SSBI/SBPR/PPR investigation).

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • JCIDS experience.
  • DAU requirements training.
