We are searching for a Cyber Security Systems Engineer, Level 2-3 to join our Cyber Network Defense Department.

    What YOU Will Do
    You will design, integrate, and operate information security systems. Responsibilities include threat hunting and analysis; incident handling; forensics; information system hardening; system administration and operation; and security control identification, selection, and application.

    What YOU Need to be Successful
    Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Computer Science plus two years of related experience.

    Preferred experience:

  • Security Operations Center (SOC), Computer Emergency/Incident Response Team (CERT/CIRT)
  • Red/Blue/Purple teaming
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security
  • Web application firewall integration
  • Cloud and virtualization security
  • DevSecOps
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies
  • ATT&CK framework integration
  • Practical hands-on experience integrating and working with systems such as Splunk, Fidelis, McAfee, Nessus, Palo Alto, Atlassian, EnCase, and Azure. Preferred certifications include CCNP Security, CFR, GCIH, GCED, and OSCP

    Required experience/skills:

  • Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Institute for Standards & Technology (NIST), Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), Common Criteria, and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) control bodies
  • RMF control selection and implementation
  • System security development
  • Incident response
  • Problem identification, investigation, and resolution
  • Endpoint security
  • Intrusion Detection/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Information security system architecture, engineering, and operations
  • The selected applicant must earn a Cybersecurity baseline certification within 6 months of hiring

    You will be subject to a government security investigation and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
