Responsibilities

  • Use cutting-edge tools and technologies and attend demos to build technical and professional skills, including XDR/EDR, zero-trust, MFA, vulnerability assessment and management, and more.
  • Become proficient with industry-standard tools and practices, and analyze data from computers and network devices with those tools
  • Work on projects and learn critical skills in information security from a holistic perspective that will increase Carmeuse's security posture.
  • Be immersed in our in-house and external support teams, and you will contribute to a wide variety of internal client projects
  • Perform tasks related to in-house lines of business as a technical consultant involving high-level information security
  • Support internal teams requiring a cyber risk assessment of potential company acquisitions.
  • On-the-job learning of how Operational Technologies (OT) operate and how they must be secured.
  • Learn to present sophisticated technical matters and analyses clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Aid in the development of IT security risk metrics
  • Stay up to date with the current attack vectors and trends relating to IT and OT
  • Research and suggest methods to quickly disrupt potential attackers within the IT and OT space.
  • Anticipate and respond to changing priorities in demanding high-energy environments
  • Develop and broaden skills through training and research
  • Contribute to and attend in-house training sessions
  • Assist in the creation of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Pursue projects that draw on your skills and academic interests and that add value to Carmeuse's cyber posture.

Qualification

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science - Information systems, information security, digital forensics, cloud computing, information security & assurance, or network administration with a minor in cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of computer networking technologies
  • Familiarity with computer system hardware and software
  • Strong analytic, qualitative and quantitative reasoning skills
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business strategy and cybersecurity
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, plus attention to details
  • Solid understanding of the O365 suite and familiarity with the Windows operating system. Macintosh and Linux operating systems are a bonus.
  • Effective time management skills for handling multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
  • Enthusiasm to learn through a combination of structured, on-the-job, and self-directed training
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
  • Applicants for this role should be juniors or seniors, graduating between December 2023 - June 2024, and have a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 grading scale.
  • Occasional travel to plant sites may be required
