The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS), places our customers and constituents at the heart of everything we do. As a Cyber Security Analyst Intern, you will join the EOTSS Cyber Security Team. We have two groups in the EOTSS Security Office: Vulnerability Management and Cyber Security Monitoring. The Vulnerability Management team actively searches the network for security vulnerabilities and works with hosting teams to remediate them. The Cyber Security Monitoring team looks for evidence of malicious network traffic and works to resolve those issues.

The Cyber Security Analyst Intern will learn and perform the following responsibilities:

  • Log analysis
  • Malware/Virus analysis
  • Phishing monitoring and remediation
  • Threat feed monitoring and updating
  • SIEM tool incident monitoring
  • SOC monitoring
  • Vulnerability Scanning and follow-up.
  • Playbook creation and modification
  • Other duties as assigned.

By the end of the internship the individual should have gained a general understanding of Security Operations with respect to a very large organization. The intern would have been exposed to a number of tools relative to both vulnerability management and incident response.

The primary work location for this role will be at 200 Arlington Street Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 8AM to 4PM EST. This position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed.

All offers of employment into this position are conditional and subject to passing: a Massachusetts Criminal Background Check (CORI); a security clearance (fingerprinting) consistent with IRS and/or public safety requirements; and security training.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Critical thinking
  • Must be self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Reasonable knowledge of technology
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Excel, SQL, and other query languages
  • Strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills and the ability to communication effectively with a wide range of employees and leaders at various levels
