Summary

Cybersecurity Senior Engineer, Network Security and Governance

The candidate for this position will support the Cybersecurity Program as the principal engineer for network security and governance. The Cybersecurity Senior Engineer will be part of developing the strategy for network security and governance from envisioning to steady state.

Responsibilities:

  • • Develop, recommend, and document the of goals, objectives, and strategic plans for network security and governance.
  • • Establish schedules and methods for providing specialized services, implement policies, and procedures.
  • • Develop the coordinated response strategy for complex cyber-attacks, identify threats, develop suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for security implications, and recommend enhancements.
  • • Leverages a structured approach to Architecture Projects using existing methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Iterative) that make use of existing reference architecture and established architectural styles and design patterns. Proposes and develops new solutions to scale across multiple customers/partners.
  • • Defines and documents the architecture through an architecture description document, an architecture decisions log, and a requirements/constraints traceability matrix to communicate the value proposition of the business solution along with the project approach.
  • • Leads complex cost-based and technology-based discussions to explain the Architecture in terms of its build, deployment, and ongoing operational use to determine customer appetite for the business solution.
  • • Works with stakeholders (e.g., Security Team, Enterprise Architects, Development Team, Operations Team) and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach to determine adoption strategies.
  • • Leads technical teams around technology opportunities by sharing ideas, insight, strategic thinking, and input from various stakeholders.
  • • Works in close collaboration with the Project Manager and Cyber Leadership to identify, categorize, and communicate business and technical risks. Defines risk mitigation activities that are foundational to the project plan. Defines risk contingency plans for invocation should the risk occur.
  • • Acts as an advisor to stakeholders. Provides direction to facilitate relationships between across the enterprise.
  • • Acts a mentor to colleagues by educating them on technical and non-technical concepts and sharing best practices.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years technology-related experience with specific focus on network security and governance.
  • 3+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
  • 3+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expert level knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts and mitigation practices, such as Advanced Persistent Threat (APT), Insider Risk, Zero Trust, Privileged Access.
  • Expert level knowledge and/or certification in SDN Network security. Specifically, CISCO ACI network security architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Expert level knowledge of network security, threat modelling, incident response and recovery techniques.
  • Knowledge of Security Standards, Policies and Governance frameworks.
