The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. Job Summary

OCDE's Information Technology (IT) Division is making a difference in Orange County schools by providing services and leveraging technology to simplify, enhance, and provide innovative business and educational solutions. The IT Division is committed to providing creative and collaborative ideas tailored to each district's specific needs. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to serve as Cyber Security Architect; which will identify and address critical systems and critical digital assets, maintain cyber security attack mitigation, and incident response capability. This position will recommend and assist in the implementation of goals, objectives, and strategic plan; establish schedules and methods for providing specialized services; implement policies and procedures. The Cyber Security Architect will also, provide a coordinated response to complex cyber-attacks, identify threats, develop suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for security implications, recommend enhancements and research and draft cyber security white papers. The person selected will be providing highly responsible and complex staff assistance to higher level management staff. This position is full-time (In Person) and will be based out of OCDE Located at : 200 Kalmus Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92628.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major course work in information security related field. • 3 years of extensive experience in information security technology, specifically with penetration testing, intrusion detection, incident response, or digital forensics.
