Description

This position supports the US Navy’s Aircraft Carrier Program Executive Officer (PEO Aircraft Carriers) from worksites in Newport News, Virginia and in Norfolk, Virginia.  Technical direction will be provided by the In-service Carrier Program Office, Principal Acquisition Program Manager for Cyber-Security (PMS 312I).

 

The incumbent will assist with planning, design and implementation of new and improved cybersecurity solutions on Information Technology (IT) and Platform IT (PIT) systems and their networks, including but not limited to the installation, configuration, testing, and management of the system’s environment, in support of PEO Aircraft Carriers programs from either Newport News Shipbuilding’s facilities in Newport News or from other contractor facilities in Norfolk.

 

The position requires knowledge of aircraft carrier IT and PIT systems.It also requires expertise in applying principles and techniques of systems analysis; process engineering concepts; working knowledge of cybersecurity instructions, directives and concepts; network management methods; network enterprise architecture; bandwidth management concepts; work flow concepts; technical documentation preparation; briefing preparation; and project management principles.

 

The incumbent will also manage a large and complex network (providing shore-based support to ships in overhaul) including assessing its performance, providing reports to leadership, presenting recommendations for adoption of new methodologies, and establishing security practices.

 

The incumbent must demonstrate the skill and bearing to serve as the PMS 312I representative or liaison in meetings with senior Navy officials. 

 

The incumbent must be proficient in MS Office applications.
