What will I be doing?

The Hilton corporate summer internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain real world experience at one of our key corporate locations. The program is intended to develop the business leaders of tomorrow. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities and join in networking and social events with other Team Members and fellow interns.

As a member of the Security team, you will work closely with the product teams and quality assurance teams to review and help implement security solutions that are tailored to the specific risks facing the organization, including threat modeling and applications security consulting services. You will be a critical component to help manage the compliance of policies and standards as a function of an end-to-end SDLC project lifecycle.

Members of the Security team play an important role in maintaining the controls that enable our organization to operate efficiently, cost effectively, and within compliance standards. Engineers will also assist others in interpreting, understanding, and applying the information security policies and standards to mitigate information security risks. This position also supports other members of the Information Security team.

This year-long internship will begin in June. The Cyber Security intern will work 40 hours during the week in the summer and on a part-time basis during the school year.

More specifically, you will:

  • Support team members in application security assessments, by reviewing penetration tests results, implementing tools for dynamic/automated application reviews and other information assurance activities
  • Conduct guided static code reviews and penetration testing
  • Support the development of reporting dashboards to visualize Cyber security program and project metrics
  • Support the maintenance and updates to Cyber security SharePoint website
  • Support the review and updates of Cyber security controls, processes and templates, as well as Cyber tool documentation (e.g. training materials, guidelines)
  • Create and/or update project-related documents (i.e. issue logs, test logs, project plans, etc.) and perform general and/or clerical duties as assigned

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with significant coursework in Cyber Security or Computer Science
  • College Junior or Senior
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Can be on-site and work at assigned location
  • Can work in the US without employment sponsorship
  • Basic understanding of IT Systems, Computer Infrastructure & Software (e.g. Computer, Server, Storage, Networking, Firewall, Operating Systems, Databases, Web Servers, Virtualization)
  • Knowledge of Java or .NET and at least one other common programming language

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Experience with Cyber Security Tactics, methodologies, and procedures
  • Exposure working with AWS/Azure Cloud computing platform
