Cyber Security Analyst

Work for a global leader in energy! Our client to the North of Houston is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst with 2 - 5 years experience to join their team! This is a long-term, on-going opportunity.

The Cyber Security analyst performs monitoring for suspicious activity and analyzes, provides guidance on captured events

Responsibilities Include:
Perform on-going monitoring for suspicious / malicious activities
Develop new reporting tools to identify suspicious / malicious activities
Generate and review key reports with various business groups
Conduct and steward investigation activities
Work closely with other IT groups (email, network, desktop, middleware) while conducting investigations
Work with Global Security to share / review threat information
Act as project lead for small projects or as a technical contributor to larger projects
Participate in on-call rota for off hours support

Required Technical Skills:
Understanding the Computer Security framework, Cyber Kill Chain, Cryptography techniques, Knowledge of the most common Vulnerabilities and Cyber Attack techniques, Understanding of Cisco Hubs, Routers, Switches, and Network Tools; Communication Protocols; Domain Name Service (DNS) and name resolution of client computers; IDS, IPS, Endpoint detection and protection. Have experience with SOC Orchestration and automation tool.
