As a Cyber Security Analyst supporting GDIT's Technology Shared Services (TSS) Cyber Engineering team, your skills will be leveraged to support multiple customers within the GDIT portfolio. TSS supports more than 135 government programs with IT service delivery in cloud, cyber, artificial intelligence, application development and service desk operations.

GDIT is committed to fostering economic growth and prosperity in Louisiana, with established operations in multiple locations throughout the state, including facilities in New Orleans, Natchitoches, and our Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, LA. This position offers the flexibility to work 100% remotely from anywhere within the state of Louisiana.

**This is a pipeline requisition for future openings.

HOW A CYBER SECURITY ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Develops and tests PoC security solution implementations
  • Responds and investigates reported security vulnerabilities and incidents
  • Gains experience with SDLC through design, development, testing, and implementation phases
  • Experience and aptitude with conducting unique research/discovery projects
  • Develops security policies, processes, standards, and roadmaps
  • Implements comprehensive security controls consistent with risk
  • Develops scripting and basic programming
  • Maintains application deployment and security architecture
  • Gains hands-on experience with subject area tools and technologies
  • Monitors and reports on call volumes, alarm responses, and incident reports to ensure appropriate levels of service are met
  • Supports annual updates of the incident response concept of operations document
  • Supports annual incident response tabletop exercises
  • Identifies and responds to incidents to prevent or limit damage to assets, and report incidents
  • Detects and analyzes incidents, coordinates activities with other stakeholders for containing, eradicating, and recovering from incidents
  • Develops advanced analytics and countermeasures to protect critical assets
  • Supports the production and maintenance standard operational processes and procedures and playbooks for use by all shift personnel
  • Provides enterprise-wide management of security incidents, managed network space, to detect, respond, and report all computer related incidents that includes daily monitoring of information systems, vulnerability remediation, intrusion detection, log reviews, and malware tracking
  • Assesses, identifies, and remediates issues of the individuals and/or systems affected
  • Coordinates the development of reports from the SIEM, NIDS, and HIDS
  • Remains up to date with current attack methods and characteristics in order to identify threats and advise on prevention, mitigation and remediation
  • Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BA/BS (or equivalent years of experience)
  • Required Experience: 2+ years of experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Security Analysis, experience with Security Tools; SIEM, HIDS/NIDS, Endpoint Protection, Vulnerability Management
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Security+ Certification, Security Analysis
  • Preferred Skills: Self-driven, good communications, organization
  • Location: Remote, must be based in Louisiana.
